Yawm ʿArafah, known in full as The Day of Standing at ʿArafāt, is the most significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage. Pilgrims gather on the plains of ʿArafāt near Mecca, engaging in deep supplication and repentance. For non-pilgrims, fasting on this day is highly recommended and is believed to expiate sins of the previous and coming year.

Eid al-Adha, formally known as ʿĪd al-Aḍḥā, is the Festival of the Sacrifice. It commemorates the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was willing to sacrifice his son for the sake of Allah. The festival includes special congregational prayers, the ritual sacrifice (Qurbani), and acts of charity and sharing with the community. It coincides with the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
